DREAM WORLD

Deep in the Sea

 

 

Come, hold my hand and I

Will take you to see

A wonderful party

That's deep in the sea.

 

Seaweed so graceful as

It sways to and fro,

The moonlight breaks through

And provides a soft glow.

 

Colorful coral and

Anemones bright

Surround a ballroom.

What a beautiful sight.

 

Red and blue neon fish

Provide lots of light,

Reflected from Mother-

of Pearl shining bright.

 

Chaperones are scallops in

Their fan shaped shells.

Clams, usually silent, laugh

At jokes that they tell.

 

Oysters are bragging as they

Show off their pearls.

While others are thinking,

"What silly girls."

 

Lobsters turn livid when

They're squirted with ink

By mischievous squid

Who are gone in a wink.

 

Dog fish and cat fish

Agree not to fight.

Snappers stop snapping

For this special night.

 

Fiddler crabs offer

The music so sweet -

Accompanied by blow fish

On conch shells from Crete.

 

Dolphins and seals put on

A beautiful show

In waters of green mixed

With blue indigo.

 

Star fish and sea horses

Dance all in a row.

The mermaids and mermen

Dance a waltz oh so slow.

 

Dancing and singing are

All part of the fun.

Old friendships renewed

New courtships begun.

 

Laughter and pleasure and

Great joy all abound.

A happier party

Could never be found.

 

Come, let us slip away

Before we are seen.

We wouldn't want to spoil

The grand party it has been.

 

Time may go by but, once

Again we may see,

This beautiful dream world

So deep in the sea.
