Early in the morning while I still slept,

He picked a lovely lily still moist with dew

Then as I awoke, he placed it next to me

"Here's a morning flower just for you."

 

I felt my love returned in part

On this very special day.

I had a corner in his heart

A place my love could always stay.

 

True love will always overcome

Hurtful times and painful hours

With memories of heartfelt love.

And yes, oh yes, sweet morning flowers.
